Gemäß GÖPEL ERHARD / GÖPEL BARBARA 1976:
Louise (Lulu) Pulitzer, geb.
Walter Barker schrieb über Pulitzer: »›The Egyptian Princess‹ because of her authoritative presence, which was moderated by dignity and grace. Her delicate, finely formed features, characterized by alertness and sensitivity, and her graceful neck easily evoked a resemblance to the Berlin polychrome sculpture of Nefertiti with which Beckmann was familiar. Louise Pulitzer was instrumental in assisting the Beckmanns in obtaining the necessary papers for exit and entry to the United States from Holland, and Beckmann included her in his inner circle of American friends.« (In: Modern painting drawing and sculpture collected by Louise and Joseph Pulitzer, Jr., Vol. 3 Cambridge 1971.)
